A New Look...Again

So, I just couldn't get into the dark color of my last blog change so I decided to "go green". Green is my favorite color so I am hoping it will bring us good luck! I am having a little bit of a downer day. I am just so anxious to meet my baby!! It seems like things have slowed down for us quite a bit, but I am still hopeful that we will get "the call" sometime in the next month or two. We are no where near being ready as far as having Cole moved into his big boy room or having all of the stuff we need for two children, but we cannot wait to be looking at the face of our sweet child. I have been reading up on South Korea a bit and Dusty and I are really looking forward to traveling and seeing the country.

This past weekend we went to the lake with Dusty's family and had a great time (even though the boat broke as Dusty and I were driving it from the boat ramp to the dock). No boat = a lot of fun floating in the tube, jumping off the dock, canoing, water gun wars with the nephews, and of course eating. I am now trying to work off the 5 lbs I gained thanks to fried potatoes for breakfast, frito chili pies, brownies, etc....!! Ha ha!

Overcast morning = Pipe cleaner fun!

Cole wanted to be one of the guys and help daddy and uncle Phil work on the boat

We have had a fun and busy summer so far! Here are a few pictures of what we have been up to the past few weeks...

Cole and his buddy Joel eating dinner pool side

I think floaties make ice cream taste even better!

Zak came over to play one evening.

They put on a rock concert for us.

Fun with dad in the sprinklers

Dusty and I went to Las Vegas to celebrate our birthdays with friends. It was so much fun!

No News

I just thought I would share that we have no news on our second adoption. I guess you could say no news is good news because this means the process is going very smoothly and there have been no big delays/changes, but we are starting to get really anxious!! I can't wait to be a "momma" again and have two kiddos in the house.

We are starting to work on Cole's big boy room and I bought his bedding yesterday. Today I am going to see if I can get Dusty and Cole will run up to OKC to look at dressers/twin beds. I might be voted down though - Dusty quickly figured out that I am now outnumbered in the guy to girl ratio and taught Cole to raise his hand anytime he says something like "who wants to stay home and watch football?" or "who wants to not go to look at furniture?" etc. Then they both stand there with their hands in the air looking at me like "sorry you got vetoed" it is really pretty cute.

Well, we have had an incredibly busy summer. Cole has learned SO MUCH! He is now a pretty darn good swimmer and played golf with me a couple times (well, he liked riding in the cart) and he even rode a horse in a rodeo!! When Cole was at his Aunt and Uncle Middleton's staying with his cousins while we were on vacation Cole got to ride a horse in a kids rodeo and got a ribbon for 5th place! ha ha. I have to post a pic Melissa sent me so you can see him. He had a blast!

I hope to have some great news for you out here in the NEAR future about our second child! Please be saying a prayer for us for patience!!

Meet Cole's New Cousin Sophie Beth

Sweet Sophie was born on Wednesday, July 16 and Cole and I were so happy to be there for her arrival! (Dusty had to work) My sister Anna is amazing and is doing well - her husband Hans and their 2 1/2 year old Ethan are also enjoying having a little gril in the house. Ethan is going to be a great big brother! Welcome to the family Sophie - hopefully you have another cousin coming very soon!!

Our Big Man Turns 2!

We cannot believe that we celebrated Cole's 2nd Birthday on July 8th! We had a great time spending the 4th weekend with family. Cole got to have two birthday parties (one at my uncle Pat and aunt Diana's house with my parents, Grandma, aunts, uncles, and cousins and one at home with Dusty's parents and Cole's aunt and uncle Harris). Cole had a great weekend swimming (he is getting so good), playing with his new toys, watching "firecrackers", and of course eating lots of cake and ice cream. When you ask him how old he is he says "20!" and when you say "no, are you 2?" he says "NO, 20!". He also told me he wanted a skateboard when I asked what he wanted for his birthday. Are you kidding me? I told him maybe when he really turned 20 and got him a slide/playhouse!

Cole's Exciting News...

Yep, that's right, Cole has a brother or sister waiting for us in South Korea!! We are so excited to tell you that we are well under way on our second adoption (Cole is holding the precious paperwork binder in this picture - he has one like it too only it is packed and weighs about 20 pound by now). Dusty and I cannot believe we are getting ready to be a family of 4 - we can't wait!!
We chose to wait a bit to make our announcement to the blog world so I will be adding a timeline to the side later. We have been on the waiting list almost three months - yay - for a baby boy or girl (won't know which until we get the call) and we just can't get over the fact that our sweet child has most likely been born and is waiting for us right now! We love you baby and cannot wait to hold you!! I have been doing a little nesting here and there. Mainly, I am trying to finish Cole's baby book, Vietnam and 2007 photo albums so I can be ready to start baby book #2, South Korea and 2008 photo albums! ha ha! Please say a prayer that our process continues to go smoothly and that God holds our baby in His arms every day and night until we can be together.

Happy Father's Day!

We had such a great and busy week! We had a fun time up at GG and Grandpa's house (even though we missed them while they were away on vacation) swimming, playing and having dinner with our friends Sunny, Micah, Creed and Rinn. On Saturday we went to Tulsa for the Vietnam Heritage Weekend organized by our adoption agency. It was SO much fun and Cole had such a great time playing with all of his Vietnamese friends and doing arts and crafts that revolved around his heritage and culture. We had a great time hanging out with the Sala's and Race's as well as seeing friends from the "blog world". Funny how you sometimes wish name tags had a spot for username - ha ha!

Sunday was a very Happy Father's Day - Cole slept with us and woke daddy up with a card and present (manly grill tools) and big hugs and kisses. They watched cartoons together and then we met Grandpa, Grandma, Aunt Jessica, and Uncle Phil for lunch at Ted's to celebrate. Later it was off to the golf course! Dusty, you are just the best daddy!! You are so funny, creative, and really love your fun time with Cole. We love you so much!

Happy Father's Day to my daddy too - I love you!
